On this Bill Dickens interview, the healthy (and unhealthy) origins of his intense drive and desire to achieve… INCREDIBLE stories about playing with Ramsey Lewis, Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Berlin, Chet Baker, Freddie Hubbard, Henry Johnson, Chuck Mangione, Steve Morse, Leo Nocentelli, Jaco Pastorius, hanging with Eddie Van Halen… feelings of finally “making it” when his song “Don’t Lose The Magic” hit #1 with Shawn Christopher… putting down the bass to start working “behind the glass,” low points having to deal with 7-string bass haters… not knowing enough about the business early in his career, hanging out with Mike Tyson & Johnny Mathis, trusting others (or not!), LOADS more cool stuff, GREAT convo!
